Let the games begin

Okay, so through the 7+ years of running this web site there have been a lot of things I’ve experimented with. There were some things that worked, such as the Forums...and there were some things, well, not so much, such as the Ride Status. I’ve done a lot over the past seven years and I’ve always struggled to find a way to balance my schedule with keeping the site as updated as possible.

The Forums helped build a community, but I have always been displeased with the updates on the main site…and I want to let you know I am putting a lot of effort in to rectifying that situation. Soon you will see the site updated with all of the pages actually looking the same…and I’m also putting a lot of work into the Northeast Theme Park Network, which I am very excited about.

I supposed I’m taking the long-cut in telling you what this is all about. I have always strived to look at Great Adventure Source from an un-biased perspective and evaluate how it could be improved. My philosophy has always simply been to think about what I would really want in a web site. That brings me to the creation of this blog. There is SO MUCH information in the Forums…almost too much information…and I’ve finally realized that this site needed a way to tie it all together.

The Source Scoop is designed to provide updated commentary on what’s going on with the park. I’ll take what I know, what I’ve seen and what I’ve heard and report it here. This will be your home base for finding out the latest news and updates with the park and I’ll even tell you where to go to find out more.

I’ve experimented with a lot of things on this web site, but nothing has gotten me more excited than this blog. You’ll find it right here at gadv.com/blogger. To make things even easier I’m going to set up the RSS feed and have my latest entries appear on the main page. Welcome aboard, I have a feeling this is going to be a great ride!

Hello, my name is Gary Hill. I was the first Lion 5 Ranger in the Safari Park back in 74. The developers of the park bought animals from a Safari Park in Texas I worked at and we shipped them to NJ to open GA. I was sent to Uganda to pick up and deliver the orginal 25 of the 28 elephants that opened the park in the summer of 74. I wonder if any of the orginal animal guys and gals ever get on a blog at GA. Any info will help, my e-mail is FtFrkGary@aol.com Thanks.
