It looks like the transfer track was ripped out and stacked in a pile in the infield. They'll make money with the scrap sooner than just having the ride sit in a lot taking room and waiting for the next move. Money is tight. As much as it hurts it's the right move. That kind of coaster is pretty much outdated.

I'm pretty sure when Dominator was coming to Kings Dominion in 2008 they were ripping up empty parking lot, getting its eventual site ready in September/October 2007. The site clearing has to be done now then.

The station, brake run and transfer is all gone now. They are not wasting anytime clearly.

Okay. The rate of demolition is quite shocking. Granted they want this ride down, I now have a feeling it will be torn down completely within the next few days. Hell, maybe not even a week after the last train dispatched the ride won't even exist.

Now the question is why are they doing this so fast? To read my answer, and my guess, please see my post here.

Also, make sure you keep this thread concentrated ONLY on Scream Machine and nothing else.

I think Weber wants to do things like how Cedar Fair does. CF starts building in August and usually has things ready right opening day. I think by the end of July GASM will be completely gone. The Facebook page also mentioned that they're going to start auctioning off parts of the ride if anyone is interested.

[...] We are going to be auctioning off some items from GASM. When we have the details available, we will post on our page.

Looking at those demolition pics is like looking at the autopsy photos of a loved one. Lots of mixed feelings.

I believe the term for these deconstruction photos is 'destructoporn.'

I sincerely hope that GASM gets replaced by a well-themed ride. There's nothing I hate more in the park than Nitro's queue line, and I really don't want another one of those. I'm really excited to hear what's gonna happen with Boardwalk.

I think a smaller flat ride could replace the prize building in the exact middle of the Boardwalk Games Center, like a Tilt-A-Whirl or UniCoaster, and the park could just make that part Boardwalk, and the top something else.

WOW - The corkscrews stand alone! The s turn after them is gone, now the curve connecting them to the batwing. I bet the whole second half is gone by Monday night or Tuesday

That is my most beloved part of the ride. It couldn't get smoother or look cooler from the last row of the train.

The corkscrews are my favorite, so smooth.

Personally, when we meet with Kevin, Josh, we need Mark to be there as well because I believe the corkscrew part should be re-used just like Thorpe.

This would be right before the entrance plaza when you walk in. Any thoughts?
