Nice update GAcoaster. I'm very disappointed about Spinmeister, though. Another flat lost...

On the other hand, an inspector on Robin may be a good thing, and the new flowers look great. When I was there yesterday, the cake was all dirt.

AGAIN with the flat-taking-away! This is freaking ridiculous! Sacrificing yet another flat, and for what, another smoking area... :grrr:

Good to see Runaway Train open again, and Riptide with water! Hopefully it will open back up soon...

Spinmeister seems to have made its last stand. From what I hear though, a replacement might not be too far off.

2 Quick things:
1. Sucks to see Spinmeister get owned by the inevitable Six Flags falt-take-awayer people, but hopefully we will get something new.

2. Glad to see Riptide almost open and RMT back open! By the way, why is the right side of Riptide never used? It would be so cool if they were both in use.

The right side chute was permanently blocked off in 1988 in an effort to improve safety. The "jump" at the bottom was taken out at that time as well.

WTH! :grrr: Spinmeister is gone for good? I can't believe it. Well, there went another flat. I liked that ride too. A smoking area? Ok it is one of the larger ones but please, there?

I think it's funny/strange that people think that removal of a flat ride is some kind of attack on the park.

THIS IS ALWAYS A BUSINESS DECISION, AS WAS THE REMOVAL OF EVERY OTHER RIDE!

It may not make sense to us, because we don't have all the facts and figures. It was one of my favorite flats, but I don't take it personally that they had to take it away.

There is no Mr. Burns type person sitting in the Six Flags office saying "Take every flat ride out of Great Adventure and make them suffer...and while you're at it cancel Christmas!". Every ride that has been removed was done so as a business decision. Not enough staff, extreme maintenance problems/costs, age and availability of parts, etc.

If there is/was any economical way of saving Spin Meister, I'm sure the park would have done/would do it. I don't think Shapiro or Sevart or anyone wants to see any ride removed, especially one which families can ride together.

Also, remember there is no OFFICIAL word it is really gone for good. It may be that there is just no money in this years budget to complete the repairs, or maybe it's cheaper to replace than repair. We don't know and can only speculate.

If the rehab was taking longer than expected, maybe they decided to dress the site up as a temporary measure...especially with Shapiro and investors visiting the park today. That fence can be removed as easily and quickly as it went up.

I do not see it as an attack, because why in any good reasoning would they attack themselves. I find it to be very depressing any time a ride goes, without sign of immediate replacement.

Plus, maybe this is a little hint at what is to come next season. A revamp of Old Country?

I'm taking 3-1 odds on Scrap Metal Land. :P Definitely don't see it coming to any other park, at least in the SF Chain.

I have a question. On Riptide, What is the point of having those two drops side by side if only one is used?

Sorry to double post......But i just wanted to say sorry for posting my reply. I didn't noticed that is gave the answer to my qouestion in this forum. Sorry =[

Originally both were used. The difference between a Hydro Flume and a Log Flume is the twin drops for "watering off". If all the water sent to the top came down a single chute, the boats would float rather than roll which would be dangerous. With a log flume, the water goes under/around the drop rather than down it. The second chute helps disperse the water. It also helped capacity when they used to use both sides.
