When I rode the scream machine in may, I had realized that the ride has been getting really old and shaky and rough. Do you think that the ride will close in the near future?

In memory of the 37 Brave Men and Women of the Port Authority Police Dept of NY and NJ who gave there lives on 9-11. It is cause of you, in the darkest hour of our country, we saw the lightest hour. May god bless you. RIP PAPD37

It's tough to say really. It is one of the most reliable in the park since it rarely has downtime, but as it get's older and older parts start to break parts begin harder and harder to find since Arrow is no longer a company. When that becomes the case Mr.Shapiro might find it better to just remove Scream Machine all together since it has low ridership,so down the line it might happen but for now I think it's safe since it's a classic and the park would look weird without it in the sky line.

That is true about the six flags sky line not looking the same if it wasn't there. But I heard that in 2010 six flags might get a dive coaster so if they ever do demolish the gasm, then I think the dive machine will replace it. Thats just a possibility.

There are plenty of other places to put a DM. Gasm is a park icon and is the main reason we have the monsters we do today.

I agree! They could easily do it, and it would significantly boost ridership and popularity, as well as making it just more all-around AWESOME.

I agree! They could easily do it, and it would significantly lower ridership and popularity, as well as making it just more all-around AWESOMELY painful.

I'm sure if they made it backwards and gave it an overhaul, they'd have to refurb the trains as well. So if they wanted to do it, I think they could pull it off quite well.

No^ Why spend that much money on an coaster thats unpopular, and hurts, I think the park managment wouldnt do that considering its days ARE probably numbered at the park. Could be months, doubt it highly, but I give it 5 years before its gone.
