I got x3 rides on Gasm yesterday and remembered why I loved it. I greyed-out on the turn into the MCBR. It was magical lol. It was smoother than normal yesterday but I can handle it if it wasn't. Why would anyone skip this ride. It's amazing.

Hence, why they should take out this ride.

If it's too intense for you, then don't ride it. That dosen't mean take it out.

^ The should take out the ride because someone had great rides on it???

That's not what i meant, he said he greyed out during a turn...many people wouldn't find that enjoyable besides the people posting on this topic in defense for this ride. I don't think its too rough, sure, I go on it whenever I go to the park. But the ride quality plays a big factor in helping the park succeed. I just think GASM is painful, we all have our opinions.

I swear the last time I rode GASM, my ear was so banged up that it was red for the next 2 days. It's a fun ride though, with absolutely no lines most of the time. :thumbsup2:

I don't think it should be scraped, just refurbished with the new train they designed to fit on those tracks. I might be wrong but I think Carolina Cobra has it but I might be thinking of the wrong boomerang.

Well I found it I don't think it could be what your talking about though, while it would be cool OUCH those metal restraints would hurt on GASM if someone made similar trains for it. These are on a boomerang somewhere in Germany I believe.

"In addition, Carolina Cobra is adorned with a newly designed train exclusive only to its tracks. No other parks in the United States have yet to utilize this spacious style of train, designed specifically for a heightened rider-experience. This new sleek 28 passenger train will create an aerodynamic experience unlike any other on a coaster as riders undergo the sensations of wind and speed at an amplified level. With its narrowed nose and widened harnesses, Carolina Cobra is sure to provide a smooth ride."-Carolina Cobra Site

Those do look like a design similar to those would do GASM a world of good, but who is to be sure. Its an old ride that has many design imperfections (not flaws as the technology just wasn't there back then) so new trains just may not make much of a difference. However I suppose anything to get the restraint to be less bulky as to try to prevent head banging would help.

GASM could really be great with a small tad makeover, Cough cough new cars please.

I am 6-4, and before my back surgery 5-10, and i noticed the taller you are the less it hurts, but it still hurts bad.

No^ Why spend that much money on an coaster thats unpopular, and hurts, I think the park managment wouldnt do that considering its days ARE probably numbered at the park. Could be months, doubt it highly, but I give it 5 years before its gone.

Because they are already in the process of doing it to several old arrows and Schwarzkopf around the chain. I believe Demon got some good treatment last year as well as Shockwave at SFOT.

If Gasm was taken out I don't think I could look at SFGadv the same again. I'm not sure if I would visit as much.
