Ok so I was at six flags last week and as I was riding Batman, I noticed that to the right of it....the Observatory from Batman and Robin: The Chiller rollercoaster, is there with an entrance and exit. Anyone know why this is in the park again???

It never left...
In 2009 they used it for the Xploratorium for 1 year. And then last year during Fright Fest, it was used for Zambora of the Amazon show. I don't know what they use it now for.

They built the entrance in 2009.

It's a bit too small, don't you think?

Its big enough to hold something like this:

Then the park could just have the queue outside the observatory

I'd honestly like to see either a Scrambler put in there or a HUSS breakdance. I always thought the observatory could make for a really nice 2 level eating area/restaraunt with a fountain in the middle like Freehold Mall used to have.

I'd love to see a Breakdance with some lighting features show up in there, but I won't hold my breath for anything of significance to be built.

Honestly, as much as I loved the observatory on Chiller and the station, it really just needs to all come down or be completely redone. It makes no sense in the area without Chiller to put it in context, and the observatory looks cheap with the new black paneling on it. The building itself is pretty tiny. There were HUGE lines and traffic problems with it during the Fright Fest last year. I loved Chiller, but the area really just needs to be cleared. Maybe even a giant lawn could work well there, similar to the one at Alton Towers.

It sucked that they took that fountain out.

I would like to see a drop tower, but it wouldn't really fit.

I'd take almost any ride at this point. It would be better than another SBNO area. I never went into the Xploratorium because the 1 time I did try to go in there it was already closed for the day, but I can see why it wasn't that successful. For a passholder, spending time in there would be ok. For someone who only visits the park once a year, they probably didn't want to spend the limited amount of time they had to ride everything they wanted in the Xploratorium.

But would it really become a giant green lawn or a fenced in pit of gravel? When was the last time we saw a significant amount of sod added into the park?
