Hey everyone,

Please check-out my Sky Screamer media event coverage HERE. There are nearly 50 pictures from the event and on the ride itself. The turn-out was fabulous, and I got to ride with friends from the forums, including Josh (this site) and Harry Applegate (greatadventurehistory.com) - Very COOL !!!

Enjoy ;)

P.S. My video is now posted on YouTube and is embedded within my BLOG above...

I was very surprised to see Sky Screamer with an almost full queue (at least it looked like it) when I walked by the ride today, Air Jumbo also looked like it had a long line. If that was during a season pass preview, I can't imagine how long Sky Screamer's line will be when it is open to everyone. The park was very crowded today too, a lot busier than I expected.

^ My guess is that the queue is going to be overflowing like crazy during the summer. I don't even want to think about Fright Fest. Maybe they'll close SkyScreamer for Dead Man's Party and they won't need to worry about the Fright Fest crowds?

I hope it is open for Fright Fest. The park needs as many rides open as they can to handle those crowds.

Don't want to get off topic, but aren't they supposed to be moving DMP this year?

I thought they were supposed to last year so the Big Wheel could stay open all year but at the last minute they decided against it, hopefully they move it this year so that way both the Big Wheel and Sky Screamer remain open (if Sky Screamer was in the way of it).

^Sorry to be off topic still, but its suppose to have a all new stage this year. We will see. As for Skyscreamer, I doubt they would actually close their star ride for Frightfest. It's what people look forward to when they come to the park.

Apparently, they were going to build the new stage last year, but instead invested the money in making SkyScreamer taller. So I suppose we'll get the new stage this year. But I don't know, I kind of liked having the show where it was. Since it was in the center of the park, it kind of made sense. Hopefully they do it behind the fountain or something.

I'd rather have them move it to the arena, it allows for much better crowd control and gives everyone a much better opportunity to see the show instead of shoving each other around in the midway. They should build a giant stage at the Grandstand and work fireworks into the show ha ha.

I agree with Christian that using the arena for the show would be perfect. It'll free up a lot of space in that midway, and the seating gives everyone a good view, not just those in the front. It's not like the arena gets used much anyways.

I also think they should do something in the dolphin arena. They could probably drain the water and then put a stage in it's spot. Maybe add some sort of interactive fright fest game show. I'm not an expert of GADv so, if this idea is ridiculous and would never work, let me know. :sign0104:

Has SkyScreamer been opening with the park? And if it does, do a lot of people run to it first or do most people go to the coasters first and hit SkyScreamer later in the day?

It opened with the park on Thursday. It had a 25 minute wait at park opening.

Sorry, I'm talking about The Awakening. I like how The Awakening was in the center of the park. Dead Man's Party can go wherever it wants to.
