A magical and tropically-themed island hideaway of untold beauty awaits you. Explorer and inventor Copernicus T. Potter accidently landed upon this place of wonder, discovering the waters of which offer the gift of external youth. In a noble attempt to share this gift with the world, he attempted to harness the water – and to no avail. The remnants of his contraptions and a menagerie of drawings adorn the island, and the substantiate the tale.
Great Adventure has always been blessed with water attractions since the park’s grand opening. Attractions like the Saw Mill Log Flume; at the time the longest log flume in the world, Roaring Rapids which was one of the first water rapids ride of its kind, to holding Adventure Rivers, the park’s first water park. Though in the mid-90s, Six Flags was starting to build a franchise into the water park name. Opening several different Hurricane Harbors around the United States, it would be only time till Six Flags Great Adventure would receive it’s own share.
With Great Adventure being the largest of the Six Flags
properties, it was no wonder that Hurricane Harbor would become the largest
Hurricane Harbor built to date. Featuring the world’s largest lazy river at the
time, with elaborate designs water slides, a play
structure for children, and extensive themeing. A true get-away with one of the world’s largest water parks, directly
next to the Great Adventure theme park!
