Welcome to the best tropical wonderland in all of the Northeast: Six Flags Hurricane Harbor! With some of the best thrilling water slides guaranteed to get you soaked, what is there not to love? Now we're going to let you know just how to spend your day at the water-filled oasis so you can have the best day possible!

To begin, always try to aim going on a day where you are positive not many would go, usually a weekday early in the season. Opening day is a great time to go since it is still early and the crowds will be light. It may be a bit colder then what you would like for your water park tastes, but you will be sure to be able to hit everything without any problems! If that is too much to ask, head to the Harbor on a cloudy day. The more chance of the rain, the less people will show… unless it is 100%!

What is the best time of day to visit the park? It is our suggestion that you should always hit the water park after opening for several reasons. First, this is your best chance to grab lounge chairs near the wave pool or children area without having to hunt for many chairs. After you find your chairs, you will be free to hit the waves with as little crowds as possible. The crowds start to pick up around 12pm-1pm, so before then most slides will have minimal waits. This is also a great opportunity for those who wish to visit the theme park the same day as well. You will easily have the entire afternoon and night to enjoy yourself next door at Great Adventure, as well as enjoy a special discount on Theme Park tickets after 4pm on Weekdays!

With so many water slides, attractions, and everything in between to pick from, who knows what to do! But Hurricane Harbor does have a strict policy with water slides. Don't wear t-shirts, shorts, hats, glasses, or anything with zippers on body slides. You will have to remove them before you can ride. Water shoes are permitted how ever. The park only allows swim wear! Don’t be the one who has to walk down all those stairs after waiting to ride!

Speaking of stairs, be prepared to be able to walk up stairs. Unfortunately, Hurricane Harbor does not use any elevator system, so you must be able to walk up stairs. But if you can’t, don’t be discouraged! The park still features a huge wave pool, an amazing childrens' area, as well as the longest lazy river in all of the Northeast!

Hurricane Harbor does indeed feature a locker system for your valuables and are available for a full day. But if you bring as little as possible into the park, you most likely won't need one. Bring only the necessities such as towels and cash. You can easily get your hand stamped and go to your car in the parking lot to get anything. If you choose to leave stuff at your lounge chair, use a bag to hide things or cover it with a towel.

Hurricane Harbor even gives a system to help you not lose your money as well! Instead of bringing money into the park, go to Guest Relations or Island Traders and get a Fun Money wristband with any amount you want on it so you don't have to worry about any money getting stolen! The wristband is water proof and will not be damaged, and even if you do not spend a dime with your money, you can get it all back whenever you want!

You can get your 3-Park season pass processed at Hurricane Harbor, so if you do not want to stand in line to get it done at the Theme Park, Hurricane Harbor is a suggested alternative as lines are usually non-existent during most of the season.

Last but no least, always wear sunscreen. Don’t head to the theme park being as red as a lobster. Bring sun glasses if your eyes are sensitive to the sun, and even a hat when tanning in your lounge chair. The park offers shade around every turn and if you ever need water, stands do sell and give out courtesy water.
