First
and foremost in this massive expansion is a new
coaster that is not only the world's tallest,
but the world's fastest! Topping off at 456 feet
and racing to a speed of 128 miles per hour, this
beast raises Great Adventure's profile to a major
tourist destination.
A
dual-loading station will use four trains to keep
capacity high while using a hydraulic launching
system to send passengers around the circuit in
50.6 seconds. This by far is the biggest roller
coaster in park history. (Late April/Early May)
To
accent a world-record-breaking roller coaster,
a new 11-acre themed section is added. The Golden
Kingdom is built in the former location of Bugs
Bunny Land. The New Jersey landscape is changed
into a lush, African setting.
Highlighting
the new section is Bali's Jungle Land, a children's
section with 5 rides for the little ones. Another
major attraction is Temple of the Tiger,
an all new live show and educational exhibit.
Additionally, a wide array of exotic animals and
plants will be scattered throughout.
In
addition to returning favorites Batman vs.
Catwoman: Catfight, The World of Magic,
Summer Celebration and Fireworks!,
eight new shows have been added:
Temple
of the Tiger:
This is an encounter with majestic Bengal tigers.
A dazzling, custom-created, Broadway-style show,
"Spirit of the Tiger" features multicultural
dance, music and eye-popping special effects
with animal athleticism. Between shows, guests
can interact with highly-skilled, hands-on trainers
as they work with the tigers in their specially-designed
exhibit area. (May)
Animal
Ambassadors of the Wild:

capuchin monkeys, rainbow boa constrictors,
prehensile porcupines, coati mundi and kinkajou

The parks is now offering
"Safari Express" buses for rides from
Great Adventure into the Wild Safari animal park.
While the Wild Safari is normally included in
theme park admission, the shuttle service will
be extra — $9.99 per person or $5 for those
with season passes. The new attraction is located
in Frontier Adventures next to the Northern Star
Arena.
Two
of Great Adventure's classic roller coasters have
received a much needed coat of fresh paint. Great
American Scream Machine and Batman &
Robin: The Chiller both look like brand-new
rides.
This
goes along with the new colors of Batman: The
Ride that were added last season as the latest
attempts of park management to freshen up the park.
To
make room for all of the new additions, some of
the park's older attractions have been removed:
