  • After months of contruction being done on the tower(including the added supports needed to spport the new tower and it's forces) the vibrant orange drop tower track for Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom now stretched from top to bottom. The vertical construction and hoisting of peices was finally complete. After a grueling few months of winter, vertical construction picked up enough to have everything in place by the time the season started on April 12th, 2014. The third track's final orange piece was officially installed April 1st, 2014, as shown in this video by Six Flags Great Adventure:



  • On March 21, 2014, Six Flags Great Adventure showed off the construction progress of Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom. At this point, the ride was halfway completed, with the orange track rising 200 feet into the air.The track would end up being completed before the season started, finishing on April 1, 2014.

  • On February 19th, 2014, Six Flags Great Adventure shared the news with the world that 2 new lion cubs had been born at the Safari.Kanu and Kondo were the names chosen for the twins in a park Facebook poll. Later on, it was revealed that one more lion cub had been born, who was named Kiume after another park Facebook poll.

  • In order to help support the additional weight and stress that this year's new Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom addition will add to the structure of Kingda Ka, additional supports have been added on the backsides of the Kingda Ka tower.This was shown off in a February 17th Facebook post by Six Flags Great Adventure which shows off the new supports of the tower, as well as the orange track pieces that grace the face of the tower.

  • In one of the first steps for preparing for the vertical construction of Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom, guide wires were added to the tower to lift crews when needed. This was found when the park posted a picture to their Facebook page on January 31, 2014 that showed off the construction process needed to build a ride of this caliber in this environment.
